About the Early ARFS....The 1st generation, partially built "ARFs" (before year 2001...the first hails back to 1975) have a partially assembled fuselage constructed of Air-O-Skin plastic, reinforced with plywood. The wings are foam core with Air-O-Skin plastic exterior. The tail assemblies are either pre-covered in Air-O-Skin or are wood that requires covering. They include landing gear and rolled instruction/plans. These models require decals, all hardware, wheels, fuel tank, and engine mount, besides the radio and engine accessories.

Think of the Early ARFs as very inexpensive, very durable, outstanding learning aircraft. These airplanes can be field repaired rapidly...take along some 5 minute epoxy and CA glue. Nearly everything can be fixed at the field. RC Airplanes eventually hit the ground hard, the Lanier RC Early ARFs have been taking this punishment for decades...inexpensive, durable, and perfect for expanding skills before stepping over to built-up birds.
